Bidz.com Launches Arabic Online Auction Site

Bidz.com, a leading online retailer of jewelry, announced today the launch of a complete Arabic-language version of its online auction site, Bidz.com. This version of the Web site can be accessed by clicking the “Arabic” banner on the Company’s homepage, www.bidz.com. The Company has also hired Arabic speaking marketing personnel to better assist the new clientele.

The Arabic-language site is geared to Arabic-speakers, of which there are over 400 million worldwide. It is expected that the majority of sales conducted in Arabic will come from the Middle East, which includes two countries, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, that already rank in Bidz.com’s top ten countries by sales. The Company will utilize both internet and traditional advertising in the Middle East to publicize its Arabic translation.

Bidz.com derives approximately 25% of its revenue from outside the U.S., and international revenue grew 56% in the second quarter of 2008. The Arabic-language site is the second in a series of non-English sites, which will seek to tap into the auction site’s attractiveness around the world and will diversify the company’s revenue stream. The Company successfully launched a Spanish language version of its online auction site in May of 2008.

Bidzila Lowest Unique Bid Auction Site for Asia

Hong Kong - In response to the success of “lowest unique bid” auction sites in Europe and Australia and the lack of a quality auction site in the same vein in Asia, twenty-somethings Ralph Wintle and Amit Sharon developed Bidzila.com, which will go live on September 8th, 2008. At its launch, Bidzila’s services will be available to residents in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand.

To win a Bidzila auction, a person must place the single lowest bid on a product. It is therefore possible for one person to place the lowest bid, but not win the auction, because another person placed the same bid. This stands in contrast to traditional auction sites, where the highest bidder wins the auction, or lotteries, where the outcome is entirely dependent on pure chance. The concept has proved extremely popular in Europe and Australia amongst young people looking for bargains on a variety of products, including mobile phones, computers, TVs, and Ipods. The success of lowest unique bid auction sites is partly due to the potential savings for consumers, but also for the entertainment value in “guessing” the lowest unique bid.

“We see great potential for growth in Asia, especially in Southeast Asia due to the population’s demand for fashionable consumer products,” states Ralph Wintle, co-founder of Bidzila, “Amit and I both grew up in Hong Kong, we are both young, and we understand what our target demographic wants. Currently, we have no serious competitors on the market offering a comparable website. The market was wide open for us, and we decided to take the risk and fund this endeavor because we are confident of its success.”

About Bidzila:

Bidzila.com is privately owned and run by Bidzila Ltd., which was founded by Ralph Wintle, 23, and Amit Sharon, 22. Bidzila’s goal is to become the leading lowest unique bid auction site in Asia through focusing on excellent customer service and providing a reliable and user-friendly lowest bid auction website. More information about Bidzila and its services can be found on the company website at http://www.bidzila.com
