Naples Winter Wine Festival Auction Raises More Than $8 Million for Children
Sotheby’s Milan devotes two days to the Contemporary art sales, like in Paris, London and New York. The first session, the Evening Sale takes place on the 20th of May, while the Day Sale will be held on the 21st of May. One of the most important works on sale is an oil on canvas by Giorgio de Chirico executed in 1928 titled Temple et Foret dans la chambre.

Ireland plans to sell two bonds with a total value in the range of 750 million to 1 billion euros at an auction next Tuesday, the National Treasury Management Agency has announced.
A 2014 bond will pay a 4 percent coupon and another bond maturing in 2019 will carry a 4.4 percent coupon, said the NTMA.

The winning auction price of the LP 560-4 ranks as one of the highest amounts ever paid for a single item in the event’s 16 year history. The Race to Erase MS auction and ticket sales raised approximately $2 million dollars for the Nancy Davis Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis, a foundation dedicated to the treatment and ultimate cure for MS through clinical research and providing awareness through education to the public about this mysterious disease.

A French court has dismissed a lawsuit against eBay by cosmetics firm L’Oreal SA that charged the online auction site with selling counterfeit goods, according to wire reports. The ruling follows one in Belgium last August that found EBay does not have a general obligation to monitor what is on sale at its site. “This is a clear legal victory for EBay and important victory for French consumers,” said Mary Huser, general counsel for EBay. “We welcome the invitation to resolve the outstanding matters in an amicable way as we have always believed that cooperation is the best way to fight counterfeits.” L’Oreal had been looking for $4.8 million in damages
