NOVATO, Calif., - High-End Auctions announced today that it has created an online auction Web site as an alternative to eBay and other mass-marketing Internet auctions. This was prompted, in part, by recent changes in eBay’s policies concerning feedback and bidder identification.
According to David Wilner, founder of High-End Auctions, “One of the original features of eBay was the ability for sellers to leave negative feedback for buyers that did not fulfill their obligations under the auction contract. This helped protect sellers from doing business with questionable buyers. eBay has eliminated this important feature, leaving sellers to fend for themselves.” In addition, Mr. Wilner stated that “Bidders do not know who they are bidding against because bidder screen names are disguised. This makes it difficult to identify shill bidders and other individuals that interfere with the online auction process.”
High-End Auctions insists on feedback information (negative, neutral and positive) for both buyers and sellers. It also insists on identifying the participants in all auctions to further protect the integrity of the auction process.
