Maas Companies of Rochester, MN will auction the former Hiawatha Log Homes manufacturer including real estate, equipment and personal property on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. onsite at E10003 State Highway 28, Munising, Mich.
Hiawatha Log Homes was a late-model Bezner custom log homes manufacturer creating exceptional homes from North American Red Pine or White Cedar. The company invested more than $1 million to increase production by 30 percent in 2007 and operated until April of 2009. The economic slowdown and reduced demand for its product resulted in closure.
The manner of the real estate auction will begin with five buildings and 52.2-acre site first followed by the main milling line separately. If unsold individually, those items will be auctioned together. The property will be sold in the manner that brings the highest dollar.
Following the real estate and main milling line, ancillary equipment and personal property will be sold piecemeal. Buyers will be able to bid live or in real time via the Internet for the equipment portion of the sale.

Friday, Sept. 11, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 23, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
