The forthcoming Collectables sale on 30 November will be one of the most diverse held by Bonhams & Goodman in recent years. A wide range of memorabilia is on offer, sure to whet the appetites of collectors of vintage toys, sporting memorabilia, medals, comics, vintage film and advertising posters, and entertainment memorabilia.

One of the highlights of the sale is the exceptional Korea and Vietnam Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM) Bar group awarded to Warrant Officer First Class Edward ‘Jack’ Morrison. This medal group is particularly rare and sought after as it features two DCMs and represents one of the few occasions that an Australian soldier has been awarded the medal in two different conflicts. The DCM was a gallantry medal awarded to other ranks and was considered a ‘near miss’ for the VC. This remarkable medal group is expected to realise between $45,000 to $65,000.

Following the success of the sale of the Robert Parsons Toy Collection Part One in August, Part Two will be offered in November. On this occasion, there will be an emphasis on pre and post-war trains as well as a good selection of tinplate toys, Dinkys and Britains from other private collectors. Sure to appeal to train collectors are a good selection of O gauge, gauge 1, and HO gauge collectables. Sporting legends are also well represented in the sale. Australian wicket keeper Wally Grout’s 1961 Baggy Green cap ($10,000 – 15,000) and an unusual set of commemorative Heritage 200 silver coins ($3,000 – 5,000) presented to cycling legend Sir Hubert Opperman are sure to attract interest.

The sale will also include a wonderful private collection of vintage French advertising posters,a superb collection of American comics featuring Marvel Comics Fantasy No. 15, showing the first appearance of Spiderman ($1,200 – 1,800) and a marvelous collection of rare pre-war long Australian daybill posters.
