Auctions on eBay can run between 7 to 10 days. While that is an excellent way to generate sales for retail items, it doesn’t work as well for web sites. You want to create a flurry of excitement and not give the customers too much time to make up their minds on whether they want to bid or not. So, instead of having a 7 day auction, choose a much shorter term like 3 days. If that works well, you can even try a single day auction and see if you get good results. The immediacy of making a decision can make people bid more and higher if they think the opportunity is going to go away sooner, rather than later.
